projects

I've been busy. I seem to get like this every once in a while. Work tends to pile up, paintings pile up, and projects pile up. I've had some cool ideas for furniture lately, mostly small things like chairs, end tables and room dividers, not that I need any of this stuff, I just like the ideas of how I want to make this stuff. One of the projects I've been thinking about is a rather useful thing, a new drawing table. I have one that my grandfather built; I like the design, clean and simple. I don't really need another, but I feel like making one none the less, maybe someone would like it down the road.

As for other projects, some stuff was put on the back burner for the last several months, most notably the wooden bike. I had to go back to design on it, I think my model and life size drawing may be flawed, I need to think about the size of the frame a bit more, the current design seems to be to short, more bmx like than the full size I'm looking for.

The cruiser bike is a rolling bike now, though I haven't taken it out much. I still need to do some tweaking with the paint, and find some new rims and other components, but it's ok as is.

I've been thinking that I should finish some paintings sometime soon, as I sold some at the diy trunk show and would like to replace them. I have a few ideas for new work, based on the style I've been working in lately, the stencil cuts. I think I will do some portraits, not of anyone in particular, just stuff from my sketchbook. Should be fun, look for those in March, when I can use spray paint again, after it warms up for real.
